World Cancer Day is observed annually on February 4th to raise awareness about cancer, encourage its prevention, detection, and treatment, and to support those affected by cancer. The day aims to reduce the global impact of cancer by promoting education about the disease and advocating for improved access to cancer care, research, and treatment. World Cancer Day was first observed in 2000 and is coordinated by the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC). Every year, the UICC sets a theme for World Cancer Day to focus on a specific aspect of cancer prevention and treatment.
